An African Adventure
A 2 day hiking and horse riding adventure on a coastal cattle farm.
Start with a one hour horse ride through dune forest onto a remote beach on calm friendly horses (no previous riding experience is necessary!). Then take a hike through the forest to River Treehouse (1.5hrs). Braai supper on the riverbank by candlelight, swim in the forest pool, climb up the ramp to sleep high up in the boughs of a yellow-wood tree.
All your gear is transported between camps by vehicle. Delicious packed meals for you to cook for yourselves over the fire are available on request.
Camp on the riverbank at the foot of a cliff in a clearing surrounded by thick indigenous Eastern Cape bush.
Listen to the songs of the birds and the trickle of water running over the rocky river bed.
Sleep in a treehouse high up in a Yellowwood tree. Sleeps 12 (not recommended for children under 6).
Please note that our treehouse is set in remote wilderness, far from the usual amenities (bathrooms/electricity/tap water/cell phone reception) that you would find in town.
The camp is suitable only for adventurous 'outdoor' people who are happy to live a few days without such things and who enjoy hiking, camping, and living out in nature!
The treehouse is found on a hiking trail, 3.5km along the river through the forest from the farmhouse. Your gear can be delivered to a luggage drop off point 200 meters from camp.
